چکیده
The need for herbicide usage reduction and the increased interest in mechanical weed control has prompted greater attention to development of agricultural robots autonomous weeding past years. This also requires suitable tools. Therefore, we devised a new tool perform intrarow sugar beets. A conventional finger weeder was modified equipped with an electric motor. allowed rotational movement weeders independent forward travel speed carrier. tested combination bi-spectral camera two-year field trial. used identify crop plants area. controller regulated motorized weeders, realizing two different setups. At location beet plant, equal driving tractor. Between plants, either by 40% or decreased 40%. efficacy this system ranged from 87 91% 2017 91 94% 2018. yields were not adversely affected treatments compared application. present effective selective weeding. Certainly, involves risk high infestations if are applied properly timely manner regardless whether sensor technology is not. However, due increasing resistances continuing bans on herbicides, strategies must be investigated further. study can contribute use beets other wide row crops.

Benefits of Precision Farming Technologies for Mechanical Weed Control in Soybean and Sugar Beet—Comparison of Precision Hoeing with Conventional Mechanical Weed Control
Weed infestations and associated yield losses require effective weed control measures in soybean and sugar beet. Besides chemical weed control, mechanical weeding plays an important role in integrated weed management systems. Field experiments were conducted at three locations for soybean in 2013 and 2014 and at four locations for sugar beet in 2014 to investigate if automatic steering technolo...

Acid beverage floc (ABF), a flocculated turbid material that can form in sugar-sweetened, acidified, carbonated beverages after several days standing, is a customer problem to bever age bottlers and their suppliers of sugar. ABF from beet sugar has been reported to be caused by a saponin from the beet plant, and recent work has shown the presence of several sa ponins in sugarbeet. ABF from ca...
متن کاملSmart Robotic Weed Control System for Sugar Beet
While weeds in sugar beet farming reduce crop yield and quality, they also lead to higher labor and material losses. In recent years, in order to eliminate or reduce the damage caused by weeds in sugar beet farming, weed control has gained importance. To this end, various studies have been conducted on robotic weed control by detecting weeds using image processing algorithms and hoeing or spray...

Lennefors, B-L. 2006. Molecular breeding for resistance to rhizomania in sugar beets. Doctor’s dissertation ISSN: 1652-6880, ISBN: 91-576-7255-5 Rhizomania is one of the most destructive sugar beet diseases. It is caused by Beet necrotic yellow vein virus (BNYVV) vectored by the soilborne protoctist Polymyxa betae Keskin. The studies in this thesis evaluated natural and transgenic resistances t...
متن کاملPolyploid Sugar Beets—Cytological Study and Methods of Production
It is not quite clear at present whether or not polyploidy could be used to increase the productivity of sugar beets (1, 3, 5) . However, triploids which show heterosis have been developed (2, 3) . Polyploidy increases the size of fruits and germs. This property, which counts for little in multigerm beets, can prove very useful in monogerm beets (4) . To gain the advantages of polyploidy, it is...
